Our cars are permitted on the Gozo ferry, so the second island is yours to explore at your own pace.

Our story
MSG Car Hire was founded by our family over ten years ago with a simple mission: give visitors a convenient, affordable way to see Malta's landscapes and landmarks with the freedom of driving themselves.
We believe a good rental starts with personal service. Whether you're travelling solo, as a couple, with children or with friends, we'll work out the right car for your trip rather than pushing you towards the most expensive one on the lot.
Every vehicle is regularly serviced and maintained so it's safe and dependable on the road, and we offer the extras that genuinely help — GPS, child and booster seats, additional drivers and round-the-clock roadside assistance.

How it works
Tell us where you'd like to collect and return, and when. The earliest collection date is two days from today, and you can book up to two years ahead.
A €30 deposit secures the vehicle and comes straight off your total. Changes made more than 48 hours before pick-up are free.
Bring a valid licence held for at least two years, photo ID and a card in the driver's name. We'll walk you around the car and you're on your way.

Insurance covers driving on the Maltese Islands and excludes damage to tyres, wheels and the interior of the car. Full detail is in our terms & conditions.

Out-of-hours collection, vehicle delivery and collection, child seats and other extras are quoted during the booking process, subject to availability.

Two islands, one rental
Our rental cars are permitted on the Gozo ferry, so you can drive on at Ċirkewwa and be exploring the Cittadella, Ramla Bay and the coastal roads within the hour. Pick-up and drop-off at different locations is available across Malta; that option isn't offered in Gozo, but travelling there with your car certainly is.

A valid driver's licence and a credit or debit card in your name. If you're an international driver you'll also need your passport and proof of your travel itinerary.
Unfortunately not. We cover drivers between 21 and 75 years of age who have held a valid licence for at least two years.
Insurance cover for the driver, unlimited mileage and 24/7 roadside assistance. Extras such as child and booster seats and additional drivers are available for an additional fee, subject to availability.
Please contact us as soon as possible. All bookings require a €30 deposit, which is deducted from the total rental cost. That deposit is non-refundable in all cases of cancellation.
Yes, at different locations in Malta. This isn't offered in Gozo, although travelling there with the car is permitted. Additional fees apply, the option is subject to availability, and prices are shown during the booking process.
Yes. Additional driver insurance costs €5 per day. Each additional driver must present a valid driving licence and meet our rental requirements.

Absolutely. Our rental cars are permitted for travel on the Gozo ferry, so you're free to explore the island at your own pace.
In the unlikely event of a breakdown, our 24/7 roadside assistance team is available. We'll either send a mechanic to fix the problem or provide a replacement vehicle as soon as possible.
